Indian Air Force (IAF) invites Online Applications from Indian Citizens (Male and Female) as per Citizenship Act 1955 for the following courses commencing in July 2017 for grant of Short Service Commission (SSC) in Flying Branch and Permanent / Short Service Commission in Technical and Ground Duty Branches. The Online Registration start from 4th June 2016 and close on 30th June 2016.

Age Limit:
Flying Branch: 20 to 24 years as on 01 July 2017 i.e. Born between 02 July 1993 to 01 July 1997 (Both Dates inclusive). Upper age limit for Candidates holding valid and current Commercial Pilot Licence issued by DGCA (India) is relaxable upto 26 years i.e. Born between 02 July 1991 to 01 July 1997 (Both dates inclusive).

Technical Branch: 20 to 26 years as on 01 July 2017 i.e. Born between 02 July 1991 to 01 July 1997 (both dates inclusive).

Ground Duty Branches: 20 to 26 year as on 01 July 2017 i.e. Born between 02 July 1991 to 01 July 1997 (both dates inclusive).

Educational Qualifications:
Flying Branch : Graduates (Minimum three year degree course) in any discipline from a recognised University who have attained minimum 60% marks or equivalent have passed Maths and Physics at 10+2 level or BE / B Tech degree (Four year course) or cleared section A & B examination of Associate Membership of Institute of Engineers (India) or Aeronautical Society of India from a recognised University with minimum 60% marks or equivalent.

Technical Branch [Aeronautical Engineer (Electronics)] : Candidates with minimum 60% marks each in Physics and Mathematics at 10+2 level and a minimum of four year graduation / integrated post- graduation qualification in Engineering / Technology from recognised University or cleared Sections A and B examination of Associate Membership of Institution of Engineers (India) or Aeronautical Society of India or Graduate membership examination of the Institute of Electronics and Telecommunication Engineers by actual studies with a minimum of 60% marks or equivalent in the following disciplines:- (a) Communication Engineering (b) Computer Engineering / Technology (c) Computer Engineering & Application (d) Computer Science and Engineering / Technology (e) Electrical and Computer Engineering (f) Electrical and Electronics Engineering (g) Electrical Engineering (h) Electronics Engineering / Technology (j) Electronics Science and Engineering (k) Electronics (l) Electronics and Communication Engineering (m) Electronics and Computer Science (n) Electronics and / or Telecommunication Engineering (o) Electronics and / or Telecommunication Engineering (Microwave) (p) Electronics and Computer Engineering (q) Electronics Communication and Instrumentation Engineering (r) Electronics Instrument & Control (s) Electronics Instrument & Control Engineering (t) Instrumentation & Control Engineering (u) Instrument & Control Engineering (v) Information Technology.

Ground Duty Branch (Administration & Logistics) : Graduate Degree (Minimum three year degree course) in any discipline from a recognised university with 60% marks or equivalent or cleared section A & B examination of Associate Membership of Institution of Engineers (India) or Aeronautical Society of India from a recognised university with a minimum of 60% marks or equivalent.

Ground Duty Branch (Accounts) : B. Com. degree (Minimum three year degree course) from a recognised university with a minimum of 60% marks or equivalent.

Ground Duty Branch (Education) : MBA / MCA or MA / M Sc degree in English / Physics / Mathematics / Chemistry / Statistics / International relations / International studies / Defence studies / Psychology / Computer Science / IT / Management / Mass Communication / Journalism / Public Relation with minimum of 50% marks in aggregate all paper put together in Post Graduation (Minimum two year programme) and 60% marks in graduation (both recognised by UGC / Competent Accreditation Authority).

Physical Standards:
Flying Branch - Minimum height : 162.5 cms with correlated weight, Leg Length : Min - 99 cms. Max - 120 cms. Thigh Length : Max - 64 cms. Sitting Height : Min - 81.5 cms. Max - 96 cms.

Technical Branch - Minimum height - Men -157.5 Cms, Women - 152 Cms with correlated weight. All other medical criteria would be evaluated by the Air Force Medical Authorities whose decision on the fitness would be final.

Selection Procedure: All eligible applicants whose applications are submitted by due date will be called for Air Force Common Admission Test (AFCAT) and Engineering Knowledge Test (EKT) (applicable only for candidates applying for technical branch) to be conducted on 28 August 2016 (Sunday) at one of the examination centres.

The Candidates who are short-listed on the basis of Air Force Common Admission Test (AFCAT/EKT) will be called for further testing at one of the Air Force Selection Boards (AFSBs) at Dehradun, Mysore, Gandhinagar, Varanasi or Kancharapara. The testing would consist of 2 stages as given below:-

(a) Stage-I Test consisting of Intelligence Test along with other tests will be conducted on the first day. Stage-I test is a screening test and only those who qualify would undergo subsequent testing. All Stage-I qualified candidates would be subjected to document check to ascertain their eligibility for the branches applied for. Those candidates who either do not qualify in Stage-I testing or do not meet the required eligibility criteria would be sent back on the first day itself.
(b) Stage-II testing consisting of Psychological test, Group Tests and Interview will be conducted on subsequent days (Five Days).
For Flying Branch: CPSS (Computerized Pilot Selection System) and / PABT would be administered to eligible candidates.
